Next Stage help people and organisations make the best of their future by linking them to connections with the right skills and experience to help.
The South West has the worst educational outcomes for disadvantaged young people in the country. Our attainment gaps between disadvantaged and other pupils are the largest of all English regions – at primary and secondary school.
There are real challenges with social mobility across the region - with West Somerset ranking lowest of all English local authority districts for social mobility*, coupled with the highest number of students and 16-24 year olds leaving the area of any region.
We passionately believe that we all have role to play and contribution to make to tackle these challenges in our community collaboratively.

We’re passionate about bringing together local businesses, education providers and charities to drive real change in our communities, together.
Our Board has extensive networks and contacts throughout the region and will leverage these to problem solve and tackle social mobility challenges, together.

The core aim of TEDT is to provide opportunities for all residents to realise their personal potential, generating self-belief and confidence. Next Stage will be supporting TEDT in the next phase of its journey.
